I began my career as a primary school teacher, having qualified from Mary Immaculate College with a Bachelor of Education in Education and Psychology. Through my work in schools and my training as a Call Facilitator with the ISPCC, I developed a strong interest in supporting children’s emotional wellbeing.

I then pursued further professional development in the area of Play Therapy by completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills in 2022, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy (Level 9 NFQ) in 2023.

I graduated in 2025, having completed 200 supervised clinical hours within primary school settings. Having identified a need for accessible play therapy services in West Connemara, I founded Play Therapy with Allie, offering a space where children can “play out” anything that may be going on for them in a safe and nurturing environment.
